 The Protection Project Legal Internship Program 

The Protection Project International Human Rights Internship is designed to provide for a rigorous academic and professional experience in the field of human rights for the purpose of fostering both grassroots and government level leadership and support of human rights values in targeted countries throughout the world. The Internship recipient will be responsible for a number of projects related to human rights, including conducting legal research, editing human trafficking publications, and assisting in the organizations of workshops and conferences, both nationally and internationally. During the Fall 2010, the selected interns will be working on the following projects:

1. Conducting legal research in the field of child protection, and trafficking in persons;
2. Assisting in drafting legislation on child protection and drafting contracts for the organization’s partnerships;
3. Assisting in designing training programs on legal clinics utilizing the American Model in different countries, including Egypt, Indonesia, Canada, United Kingdom, and South Africa;
4. Assisting in the development of training workshops on trafficking in persons in the Middle East;
5. Conducting internet research on human rights and related issues for The Protection Project publications.

The Intern will also have the opportunity to establish professional contacts in the field of human rights and to develop collaborative research and professional relationships by participating in the daily activities of The Protection Project. The research intern will be able to participate in conferences, seminars and workshops held by leading institutions in the field of human rights.

 The Protection Project International Human Rights Internship Program

The Protection Project International Human Rights Internship is designed to provide for a rigorous academic and professional experience in the field of human rights for the purpose of fostering both grassroots and government level leadership and support of human rights values in targeted countries throughout the world. The Internship recipients will be responsible for a number of projects related to human rights, including conducting legal research, editing human trafficking publications, and assisting in the organizations of workshops and conferences, both nationally and internationally. The Intern will also have the opportunity to establish professional contacts in the field of human rights and to develop collaborative research and professional relationships by participating in the daily activities of The Protection Project. The Intern will aslo be able to participate in a wide variety of activities taking place in Washington D.C. at various academic institutions, governmental, non-governmental, and international organizations and attend conferences, seminars and workshops held by leading institutions in the field of human rights.

 The Protection Project Web-design Internship Program

The Protection Project is currently looking for an expert in web-design, preferably Drupal or other open source content management systems, to develop and maintain The Protection Project website. The selected candidate will work closely with TPP staff to design web content and keep the website up-to-date with current and future projects and events and conduct other duties as necessary. The Internship will also offer the selected candidate an opportunity to get an insight in the work of an NGO working on human rights and human trafficking both in the United States and abroad.
